Stella Splendens The duo "Stella Splendens" consists of the singer Kathrine Brandt and the recorder player Ella Moray Williams both specialized in early music. They play Spanish, Italian and French music from the late Middle Ages, among others Guillaume Machaut and Francesco Landini. This simple, yet extremely demanding music reach a meditative character at nature, when the singing voice melts with the dark soft tone of the tenor recorder, and the pure intervals sound clearly in the room.
Kathrine Brandt studied baroquesinging and historical performance practice at the Akademie für Alte Music Bremen with Prof. Harry van der Kamp. The 4-year-old study ended with a concert examination in 1997. Further studies at Civica Scuola di Musica di Milano with Christina Miatello and Roberto Gini with focus on execution and interpretation of Italian madrigals. She has also participated in masterclass courses with Glenda Simpson here focusing on ornamentation and pronunciation of Elizabethan lute songs.
Stella Splendens i Fredagskirken
